The late Princess Diana was known as a devoted, fierce and loving mother to her two sons, Princess William and Harry. These fabulous photographs show the Princess of Wales running barefoot in the races on field day against other moms at Wetherby School, a boys’ school in London attended by both William and Harry, on its annual sports day. In England, schools traditionally organize a race for children’s parents at the end of the event.
“She was very informal and really enjoyed the laughter and the fun,” Prince William said in the 2017 documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy. “But she understood that there was a real life outside of palace walls.”
She reportedly placed first in 1987 and 1988, second in 1989, third in 1990 and fourth in 1991.
